Courtwise

Terms of service

The terms that apply when you book a consultation or ask Courtwise to help with a matter. Last updated October 2026.

What Courtwise does

Courtwise provides paralegal support: organising documents, preparing paperwork and bundles, research and practical guidance on procedure. Courtwise is not a firm of solicitors and does not give regulated legal advice or carry out reserved legal activities. See our regulatory information for details.

Consultations

Consultations take place by secure video at the time you book. The call ends automatically at the end of the booked time. If you need longer, please book a longer or further session.

Paid slots are held for 10 minutes while you complete payment. If payment isn’t completed the slot is released.

The free 15-minute introductory call is available once per person, on weekdays during office hours.

Prices are shown before you book. Evening and Saturday sessions carry a 30% premium. Wider pieces of work are quoted in writing before any work starts.

Cancellations and refunds

If you need to cancel, let us know through the contact form, by email at info@courtwise.org or by phone or text on 07822 000110 at least 24 hours before your consultation and we will refund you in full or move your booking.

If we have to cancel, you will receive a full refund automatically.

Because a consultation is a service you ask to be provided at a set time, your 14-day right to cancel ends once the consultation has taken place.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the decisions you make in your matter, for meeting court and tribunal deadlines, and for the accuracy of the information you give us.

Please don’t share sensitive documents until we have agreed a secure way to do so.

Liability

We will carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Otherwise our total liability for any consultation or piece of work is limited to the fees you paid for it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
