Regulatory information

What Courtwise can and can’t do for you. Last updated October 2026.

Courtwise is not a firm of solicitors

Courtwise Legal Guidance provides paralegal services. It is not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Bar Standards Board or CILEx Regulation.

Courtwise cannot carry out reserved legal activities. These include representing you in court (rights of audience), conducting litigation on your behalf, preparing certain documents relating to land, probate activities, notarial activities and administering oaths.

What this means for you

We can help you understand processes, organise your evidence, prepare paperwork and bundles for you to file, and support you as a litigant in person. You stay in control of your case.

If your matter needs a solicitor or barrister we will tell you, and suggest how to find one.

Solicitors and barristers who instruct us remain responsible for the legal work and its supervision.
